Decane is a hydrocarbon which contains 10 carbons that is an alkane. The chemical formula for decane is C10H22.

There are 75 isomers of decane, all of which are flammable liquids. n-Decane, straight chain decane, has a melting point of -30 C, a boiling point of 174 C, and a specific gravity of 0.73. Decane is one of the components of gasoline (petrol). Decane, like other alkanes, is nonpolar and therefore will not dissolve in polar liquids such as water.
