Cushing is located at 42°27'54" North, 95°40'35" West (42.465087, -95.676336)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 246 people, 104 households, and 66 families residing in the city. The population density is 296.8/km² (771.9/mi²). There are 118 housing units at an average density of 142.4/km² (370.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.41% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 67.6 km² (26.1 mi²). 50.2 km² (19.4 mi²) of it is land and 17.4 km² (6.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.74% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,322 people, 541 households, and 383 families residing in the town. The population density is 26.3/km² (68.1/mi²). There are 778 housing units at an average density of 15.5/km² (40.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.47% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.38% from two or more races. 0.45% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
