Mining

A detonating fuse suitable for opencast and quarry mining. It consists of an explosive core of pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN) contained within plastic covering. It has an average velocity of detonation of 21,350 ft/s (6,500 m/s). This is practically instantaneous. Cordtex detonating fuse is initiated by electric or a No. 6 plain detonator attached to its side withan adhesive tape. (references)
