Constantia is a town located in Oswego County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,107.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²). 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.0 km² (0.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.47% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 1,107 people, 436 households, and 303 families residing in the town. The population density is 200.7/km² (518.8/mi²). There are 560 housing units at an average density of 101.5 persons/km² (262.5 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.92% White, 0.18% African American, 0.90% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 0.09% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. 0.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 436 households out of which 35.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.8% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 30.3% are non-families. 23.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 2.98. In the town the population is spread out with 27.3% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 25.8% from 45 to 64, and 10.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.7 males. The median income for a household in the town is $41,307, and the median income for a family is $44,844. Males have a median income of $30,568 versus $22,417 for females. The per capita income for the town is $16,279. 8.6% of the population and 4.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 9.5% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.

Constantia is a town located in Oswego County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 5,141.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 258.0 km² (99.6 mi²). 147.3 km² (56.9 mi²) of it is land and 110.8 km² (42.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 42.93% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 5,141 people, 1,893 households, and 1,398 families residing in the town. The population density is 34.9/km² (90.4/mi²). There are 2,351 housing units at an average density of 16.0 persons/km² (41.3 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.29% White, 0.21% African American, 0.66% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. 0.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,893 households out of which 37.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.0% are married couples living together, 8.1% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 26.1% are non-families. 19.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.11. In the town the population is spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 106.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 103.7 males. The median income for a household in the town is $39,932, and the median income for a family is $45,373. Males have a median income of $31,276 versus $23,299 for females. The per capita income for the town is $15,818. 9.5% of the population and 6.2% of families are below the poverty line.
