Physics

A rapid loss of plasma particles across magnetic field lines caused by plasma microinstabilities that scales inversely with the magnetic field strength, unlike classical diffusion that scales inversely as the square of the magnetic field strength. Named after the plasma physicist David Bohm who first proposed such scaling. (references)
