Beeches are trees of the Genus Fagus, including about ten species in Europe, Asia, and North America. The leaves are entire and sparsely-toothed. The fruit is a small, sharply-angled nut, borne in pairs in spiny husks. The beech most commonly grown as an ornamental or shade tree is the European beech, Fagus sylvatica.

Beech Aircraft Corporation is an American company. It was founded in 1932 by Walter H. and Olive Ann Beech.On February 8, 1980, Beech Aircraft Corporation became a subsidiary of Raytheon Company, a diversified electronics and technology company located in Lexington, Massachusetts. Raytheon Aircraft continues the Beech tradition by manufacturing a line of Beech aircraft including the King Air and Bonanza.
