ABB Asea Brown Boveri Ltd is a multinational corporation operating mainly in the energy and automation business areas. The corporation resulted from the 1987 merger of Swedish and Swiss corporations ASEA and BBC Brown Boveri.

In 1987 the corporation had 170,000 employees. In 2001 it had 102,000 employees in Europe, 27,000 in North America and 28,000 on other continents.

Percy Barnevik, CEO of ASEA, became the CEO of the merged company, a position he held until 1996. Jürgen Dormann of Germany is the CEO since September 2002. The company's headquarters is located in Zurich, Switzerland.
