Tends machine that drills airhole in shank of smoking pipe to connect shank hole to bowl chamber: Clamps smoking pipe bowl in jaws of holding device and starts machine. Pulls handle of drill that automatically releases drilling tool into center of shank to bore hole through shank into base of bowl chamber. Removes bowl from clamp after drilling tool automatically stops and holds shank against sanding wheel to face shank for stem fitting. (references)
