1993Invention patented by Anthony J. Jr. O'Lenick on January 6th, 1993. Abstract: The present invention relates to a series of novel phospholipid polymers and processes for their use in personal care applications. The compounds of the present invention are prepared by the reaction of a suitable phosphating agent with a pendant hydroxyl group which is present on a polyoxyalkylene polymer, followed by neutralization to a pH of between 6 and 11, followed by the reaction with epichlorohydrin followed lastly by the reaction with a tertiary amine to give a quaternary compound.
