Medicine

A stretch of DNA(about 1 000 nucleotides long)formed as part of the DNA replication process. While one strand of duplex DNA is replicated as a continuous chain, the other strand is produced by discontinuous synthesis of Okazaki fragments which are joined together by the enzyme DNA ligase.
