1997Invention patented by Jin-Jen Lin on June 26th, 1997. Abstract: A dock for connecting a notebook computer to a personal computer, having a casing having a top notebook computer bearing wall, a sliding block longitudinally moved in the casing, an actuating arm transversely fastened to the sliding block, and two guide mechanisms bilaterally disposed inside the casing and partially projecting out of the top notebook computer bearing wall of the casing for guiding the notebook computer into position, each guide mechanism including a guide block, a spring imparting a downward pulling force to the guide block and a pivoted push rod forced by the actuating arm to push the guide block out of the top notebook bearing wall for guiding the notebook computer into position, wherein when the notebook computer is loaded and moved into position, the sliding block is pushed forwards to move the actuating arm away from the pivoted push rods of the guide mechanisms, causing the guide blocks of the guide mechanisms to be pulled downwards from the top notebook bearing wall and received inside the casing.
