Clarks is a village located in Caldwell Parish, Louisiana. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,071.Geography
Clarks is located at 32°1'35" North, 92°8'22" West (32.026445, -92.139516)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 1,071 people, 246 households, and 160 families residing in the village. The population density is 430.7/km² (1,112.7/mi²). There are 270 housing units at an average density of 108.6/km² (280.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 48.74% White, 47.90% African American, 1.21% Native American, 0.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.40% from other races, and 0.65% from two or more races. 2.24% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 246 households out of which 29.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.6% are married couples living together, 12.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.6% are non-families. 30.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.39 and the average family size is 2.98. In the village the population is spread out with 14.0% under the age of 18, 21.8% from 18 to 24, 38.1% from 25 to 44, 17.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 200.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 225.4 males. The median income for a household in the village is $19,583, and the median income for a family is $27,083. Males have a median income of $22,500 versus $18,438 for females. The per capita income for the village is $7,039. 27.1% of the population and 19.9% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.9% are under the age of 18 and 38.2% are 65 or older.

Clarks is located at 41°13'1" North, 97°50'20" West (41.216880, -97.838803)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 361 people, 157 households, and 102 families residing in the village. The population density is 449.6/km² (1,164.3/mi²). There are 179 housing units at an average density of 222.9/km² (577.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.06% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.83% from other races, and 1.11% from two or more races. 2.22% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 157 households out of which 26.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.2% are married couples living together, 3.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.4% are non-families. 31.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 21.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.30 and the average family size is 2.88. In the village the population is spread out with 23.3% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 23.5% from 45 to 64, and 22.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 81.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.2 males. The median income for a household in the village is $29,583, and the median income for a family is $40,625. Males have a median income of $26,875 versus $25,313 for females. The per capita income for the village is $15,742. 16.7% of the population and 12.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 25.9% are under the age of 18 and 16.3% are 65 or older.
