2000Invention patented by John F. Kadow, Harold Mastalerz, Qiufen May Xue, Steven Hansel, Mary Edson Zoeckler, William C. Rose, and James G. Tarrant on November 13th, 2000. Abstract: The present invention concerns novel taxane derivatives, their use as antitumor agents, and pharmaceutical formulations. The invention claims compounds of formula I and the use of compounds of formula I or pharmaceutical salts thereof as oral drugs for the treatment of human or veterinary disease. ##STR1## in which: R is phenyl, isopropyl, or tert butyl; R.sup.1 is --C(O)R.sup.z in which R.sup.z is (CH.sub.3).sub.3 CO--, (CH.sub.3).sub.3 CCH.sub.2 --, CH.sub.3 (CH.sub.2).sub.3 O--, cyclobutyl-, cyclohexyloxy, or (2-furyl); R.sup.2 is CH.sub.3 C(O)O--.
