Burdett is a city located in Pawnee County, Kansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 256.

Geography


Burdett is located at 38°11'36" North, 99°31'35" West (38.193410, -99.526456)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 256 people, 108 households, and 74 families residing in the city. The population density is 395.4/km² (1,014.7/mi²). There are 128 housing units at an average density of 197.7/km² (507.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.09% White, 0.00% African American, 3.12% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 0.39% from two or more races. 3.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 108 households out of which 29.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couples living together, 5.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.6% are non-families. 29.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.37 and the average family size is 2.95. In the city the population is spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 21.1% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 21.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 106.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.8 males. The median income for a household in the city is $37,000, and the median income for a family is $49,375. Males have a median income of $27,917 versus $21,563 for females. The per capita income for the city is $19,490. 5.5% of the population and 6.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 10.3% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.

Burdett is a village located in Schuyler County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 357.

Geography


Burdett is located at 42°24'57" North, 76°50'57" West (42.415960, -76.849250)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 357 people, 147 households, and 97 families residing in the village. The population density is 142.1/km² (369.5/mi²). There are 171 housing units at an average density of 68.1/km² (177.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 99.16% White, 0.28% African American, 0.56% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 147 households out of which 27.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.0% are married couples living together, 10.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% are non-families. 27.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 11.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.86. In the village the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 87.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.0 males. The median income for a household in the village is $36,023, and the median income for a family is $40,250. Males have a median income of $30,192 versus $22,031 for females. The per capita income for the village is $16,588. 8.2% of the population and 4.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 5.9% are under the age of 18 and 7.7% are 65 or older.
