Blanchard is located at 40°34'47" North, 95°13'15" West (40.579649, -95.220889)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the census of 2000, there are 61 people, 28 households, and 16 families residing in the city. The population density is 102.4/km² (270.9/mi²). There are 31 housing units at an average density of 52.0/km² (137.7/mi²). As of the census of 2000, there are 2,050 people, 787 households, and 602 families residing in the town. The population density is 328.4/km² (849.0/mi²). There are 813 housing units at an average density of 130.2/km² (336.7/mi²).
