1995Invention patented by Preben H. Olesen and Per Sauerberg on May 2nd, 1995. Abstract: The present invention relates to compounds of formula I: wherein one or both G is an azacyclic ring of formula II: ##STR1## and Z is oxygen or sulfur and the remaining variables are as defined in the specification. The compounds are useful as stimulants of the cognitive function of the forebrain and hippocampus of mammals and especially in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, severe painful conditions and glaucoma.
