Aseismatic support for constructions subject to high thermal deformations

Invention: Aseismatic support for constructions subject to high thermal deformations

Year    Description
1992Invention patented by Giuseppe Pedrocco on December 13th, 1992. Abstract: An aseismatic support includes a mass of silicone gel disposed between supported and supporting portions. The silicone gel is plastically deformable under slow movements such as those induced by thermal expansions and stiff under fast movements such as movements caused by earthquakes. The aseismatic support therefore accomodates both thermal and earthquake induced movements.
