Argyle is a town located in Washington County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,688.

Geography


According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 149.7 km² (57.8 mi²). 146.8 km² (56.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.9 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.92% water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 3,688 people, 1,313 households, and 1,000 families residing in the town. The population density is 25.1/km² (65.1/mi²). There are 1,798 housing units at an average density of 12.2 persons/km² (31.7 persons/mi²).
