Abstract: A video camera is comprised of an aperture correcting signal generating circuit for generating an aperture correcting signal from a video signal of a picked-up image, and a nonlinear processing circuit for comparing the video signal with a reference voltage modulated by the aperture correcting signal and compressing the video signal at its high brightness portion higher than the reference voltage when the video signal is higher than the reference voltage.
