1997Invention patented by Jean-Louis Maystre, Claude Motta, Beat Haldemann, and Peider Pinosch on June 17th, 1997. Abstract: The alarm and emergency call system having a plurality of local units installed at the users and connected by a telephone line to a central unit having the same design. Each local unit is in radio connection with alarm transmitters and has a control member with an electronic circuit contained in a case, a keypad, and a display unit. Following an alarm signal sent by one of the transmitters, the local unit in question calls different telephone destinations and/or pagers according to a determined cycle. The different function parameters of each local unit are stored in its control member. These function parameters can be entered, adapted or modified remotely from the central unit according to a remote management procedure.
