Invention: Adaptable cassette for coiling and splicing optical fibers

1993Invention patented by Michel Milanowski and Alain Vincent on February 21th, 1993. Abstract: The cassette has a bottom on which holding means are provided for holding optical fiber connections thereon, and optionally on which a cylinder is provided for coiling the fibers. The bottom includes different sets of openings. Either two connection supports chosen from different supports, or else one of said different connection supports and said cylinder are removably mounted side-by-side in two of said sets of openings, the supports and the cylinder having respective sets of snap-fastening catches corresponding to respective sets of openings. The cassette is thus made adaptable to being used in different ways.
