Ausbausprache (also called "ausbau language") is a language which has a standard spelling, a standard grammar and a relatively wide and clear vocabulary (Almost identical with standard language). Two language forms, that allow easy mutual communication, can be be seen as two different languages, if they are both a Ausbausprache according to this concept. A good example is Serbian and Croatian and to some some extend Hindi and Urdu. See also Abstandsprache.
