AUROR

In the Harry Potter series of novels, Aurors are employees of the Ministry of Magic who are paid to stamp out Death Eaters (Dark Wizards). However, under the Fudge Administration they were prohibited from arresting prominent members of wizard society no matter how dark their connections.

In the early part of Cornelius Fudge's reign their job was to apprehend the remnants of Voldemort's followers; in 1995 and 1996, they were used to punish those who believed Dumbledore's warning of Voldemort's return.
