Acworth is a city located in Bartow County, Georgia, Cherokee County, Georgia, and Cobb County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,422.Geography
Acworth is located at 34°3'46" North, 84°40'12" West (34.062732, -84.669885)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.7 km² (7.6 mi²). 18.3 km² (7.1 mi²) of it is land and 1.4 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.97% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 13,422 people, 5,194 households, and 3,589 families residing in the city. The population density is 732.0/km² (1,896.9/mi²). There are 5,453 housing units at an average density of 297.4/km² (770.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 79.66% White, 12.64% African American, 0.21% Native American, 2.30% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 3.17% from other races, and 2.00% from two or more races. 6.05% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 5,194 households out of which 37.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% are married couples living together, 10.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 23.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.08. In the city the population is spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 41.0% from 25 to 44, 15.7% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.6 males. The median income for a household in the city is $50,918, and the median income for a family is $55,163. Males have a median income of $40,516 versus $30,649 for females. The per capita income for the city is $21,956. 8.3% of the population and 6.2% of families are below the poverty line. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 101.3 km² (39.1 mi²). 100.7 km² (38.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.61% water.Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 836 people, 318 households, and 234 families residing in the town. The population density is 8.3/km² (21.5/mi²). There are 512 housing units at an average density of 5.1/km² (13.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.77% White, 0.84% African American, 0.84% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.32% from two or more races. 1.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 101.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.0 males. The median income for a household in the town is $37,386, and the median income for a family is $41,397. Males have a median income of $29,792 versus $26,912 for females.
