A. A secondary structure occurring in marls, limestones, ironstones, coals, etc. It is a succession of small cones of approx. the same size one within another and sharing a common axis b. Coal exhibiting a peculiar fibrous structure passing into a singular toothed arrangement of the particles is called cone-in-cone coal orcrystallized coal. Syn:crystallized coal. (references)
