Carbon copying, often abbreviated to c.c., is the technique of using carbon paper to produce several copies of paper documents. On an old-fashioned typewriter, this would be done by placing the carbon paper between two sheets of paper in the machine, so that whatever was typed on the front sheet was copied onto the second sheet. This technique applies to written documents as well. This practice declined with the advent of photocopying and other electronic means, although it is still used in some contexts; for example, manual receipt books commonly have a sheet of carbon paper supplied, in order that the user can keep an exact copy of each receipt issued.
However, the term "carbon copy" has found renewed use with the growth of the Internet, even though its original meaning does not apply. In the context of email, it refers to the practice of sending a message to multiple recipients. It is commonly used in mailing lists.
The CC addresses, however, are not hidden from the recipients, and this may not be a desirable thing, depending on the situation. To circumvent this, the header field BCC or blind carbon copy was created.

Cc (born December 22, 2001), short for CopyCat or Carbon Copy, is a tiger-tabby domestic shorthair and the first cloned pet. CopyCat's surrogate mother is a tabby, but her clone mother, Rainbow, is a calico domestic shorthair. The hair coloration difference is due to X-linked inactivation. She is the only one of 87 cloned embryos that survived. Her existence was announced by the scientists in February 2002 after her survival was ascertained.Cc was born at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A & M University, under the direction of Dr. Mark Westhusin, in collaboration with Dr. Taeyoung Shin (김태영). The project is funded by Genetic Savings & Clone, which wishes to profit from those pet owners wishing to resurrect their dead pets. Operation Cc was actually an experiment in a larger project, called Missyplicity, to clone a dog (Missy) owned by John Sperling, a university founder.
Eventually, Cc is to move into the household of Duane Kraemer, one of the team members of this operation.

A cubic centimetre (cm³) is an SI unit of volume, equal to the volume of a cube with side length of 1 centimetre. This is equal to one thousandth of a litre, or 1 millilitre (mL).The abbreviation cc, although not part of SI, is common in many contexts in English, particularly in medicine and for denoting the size of internal combustion engines in automobiles and motorcycles (e.g. "300 cc of crystalloid is required to compensate for each 100 cc of blood loss", "the Mini Cooper had a 1275cc engine", "the 750cc Superbike race").
