Sawyer is located at 37°29'54" North, 98°40'60" West (37.498323, -98.683223)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²). 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics


As of the census of 2000, there are 124 people, 57 households, and 40 families residing in the city. The population density is 368.3/km² (921.6/mi²). There are 76 housing units at an average density of 225.7/km² (564.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 57 households out of which 14.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% are married couples living together, 1.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.8% are non-families. 28.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.18 and the average family size is 2.60. As of the census of 2000, there are 377 people, 150 households, and 108 families residing in the city. The population density is 303.3/km² (782.4/mi²). There are 162 housing units at an average density of 130.3/km² (336.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 98.14% White, 0.00% African American, 0.53% Native American, 1.06% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.27% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.06% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 150 households out of which 35.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.0% are non-families. 24.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.51 and the average family size is 2.98.
