Business

Speedcheck is an infra-red systems which has just completed trials and is now approved for national use. Its digital cameras are linked to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) to trigger the issue of penalty tickets by mail. MAROM is another DVLA-linked system, which can measure the speed of each vehicle in a designated traffic lane. Speedcheck and MAROM are expensive systems, costing $250,000 per camera. (references)
