Census

Census Bureau. Plans and directs the collection of national sample survey, census, and other information at the local level. Information is collected through a field organization of regional offices in 12 cities across the country. The offices employ part-time interviewers who gather data for survey and special operations by direct contact with the public. During a decennial census, the FLD administers temporary regional census centers and local offices. (references)
