DomainDefinition

Census

The Decennial Response File, the file containing all responses to Census 2000, is processed using the Primary Selection Algorithm. From this file, two files are created: the Census Unedited File, which contains the individual responses to the short-form questionnaires, and the Census Unedited File - Sample, which contains the individual responses to the long- form questionnaires. The long form, received by approximately one in six households nationwide, included the short-form questionnaire items and additional questions. The CUF is used to generate apportionment data as well as related "raw," or unedited, census data. (references)
