Adjective. Source: Removing the 'b' from 'backwards' placing it at the beginning of 'ass' and hyphenating the words creates "bass-ackwards". Definition: An alteration of 'ass-backwards' to avoid cursing in public conversation. 'Ass-backwards' (as well as 'bass-ackwards)is generally used to describe the outcome of a situation which is the opposite of the predicted outcome.
